Dr. Ushula Tefashe was born in 1979 in Wolaita, Ethiopia. He obtained his B.Ed. degree in chemistry from Bahir Dar University and his M.Sc. in Physical Chemistry from Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia. Subsequently, he pursued his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg in Germany. After completing his Ph.D., Dr. Tefashe conducted postdoctoral research at prestigious institutions such as McGill University and the University of Alberta in Canada. Throughout his career, he has authored more than 40 scientific papers, delivered 15 conference presentations, and participated in 5 invited presentations. He also holds 3 patents and has received numerous grants and awards, including the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) fellowship for his Ph.D. studies and the McGill Dobson Cup Start-Up Competition Award. Furthermore, he serves as a referee for various scientific journals. His primary research interests focus on the fields of electrochemistry, biosensors, coatings, microfabrication, molecular electronics and corrosion. In addition to his scientific pursuits, Dr. Tefashe is multilingual, proficient in Wolayta, Oromo, Amharic, German, and English, with a basic understanding of French. At present, Dr. Tefashe holds the role of Chief Scientific Officer at Graphene Leaders Canada (GLC) Inc., overseeing various projects focused on graphene production and its wide-ranging applications. Additionally, he also contributes his expertise as a Scientific Advisory Board Member for GLC Medical International BV (GLCMI) in Belgium.
